Information and Assistance Specialist and Community Living Specialist
The Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging has positions with the Senior LinkAge Line available. Positions include an Information and Assistance Specialist and a Community Living Specialist. All specialist positions provide comprehensive, clear, and objective information and assistance to older adults and their family members. Some positions include providing education and outreach to community groups, providers and individuals. Candidates must be able to work from a home office and live in one of the following counties: Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Redwood or Yellow Medicine.
A Bachelor’s degree in social work, gerontology, nursing, or related human service field is required for both positions. Candidates for the Information and Assistance Specialist must have one year of professional or internship experience in the social services field, including long-term care, health care, social services or lead agency setting. Candidates for the Community Living Specialist position must have experience in care coordination or case management AND previous relevant employment experience at a long-term care facility, assisted living, hospital, home care or lead agency. Degree in social work or nursing requires licensure or demonstrated progress/intent on securing licensure.
