Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training Series – Inclusion Initiatives
A free, four-part training series hosted by Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, in partnership with Greater Mankato Diversity Council.
About this event
Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, in partnership with the Greater Mankato Diversity Council, is hosting a four-part virtual training series on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The target audience is providers of older adult and caregiver services in southwest MN. Participants can register for one or all of the topics in the series.
Topics will be presented on the following dates:
- December 8, 2022 (part 1 of 4) – Implicit Bias – Learn how implicit bias is formed by context, background, and personal experience and how implicit bias affects personal life and organizations.
- February 9, 2023 (part 2 of 4) – Diversity 101 – Learn the basics of diversity from a definitional perspective and the levels intersectionality as applied to an individual or group.
- April 13, 2023 (part 3 of 4) – Cultural Competency – What is “culture” and how does one become “culturally competent”? This session presents an opportunity to reflect on our cultural lens and explore the concept of cultural humility.
- June 8, 2023 (part 4 of 4) – Inclusion Initiatives – A review of the commonality between implicit bias, diversity 101 and cultural competency with a focus on application of this knowledge in your personal and organizational life to develop inclusion initiatives.
