MNRAAA’s Mission: Providing advocacy, information, resources and assistance so that older adults can maintain the lifestyle of their choice.

The landscape of aging in Minnesota is changing. Sixty thousand Minnesotans will turn age 65 every year, now through 2030. The number of Minnesotans turning age 65 this decade (285,000) will be greater than the past four decades combined. By approximately 2020, Minnesota’s 65+ population is expected to eclipse the ages 5-17 kindergarten through twelfth grade population for the first time in history.

As you review the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging Data Profile, you will note the variances in the data across the SW PSA – each county is unique. The consistent piece of data across the SW PSA is that between 2015 and 2030, every county has an increase in the percent of the total population age 65+.
